Future Forms - mʊdʌki (live at Potrvá 23. 5. 2025)

• The first volume of Future Forms introduces a recording of an amazing live show from mʊdʌki, who produces a wide palette of very intriguing music, ranging from industrial techno through all kinds of bass music to sound art or electroacoustic music incorporating a dulcimer. Beside that, she has been taking part in the activities of the phonon collective from Ústí nad Labem, which focuses on organizing experimental quadraphonic events and raves in Ústí, Prague, or other places all around Europe. The concert took place last May in the Potrvá café in Dejvice, Prague to celebrate the release of two fresh mʊdʌki records – the studio album The Labyrinth and the game soundtrack Speculare. You can listen to both of them on the Bandcamp page of the label they were released under, Stoned to Death. The sound of both the albums draws from old school hardware electronic music – however, it pushes the hardware and its sonic capabilities to their limits, and uses them to create dark hypnotic sceneries soaked in industrial rawness, then deconstructed by polyrhythmic explosions. Certain moments remind of Aphex Twin’s Selected Ambient Works vol. 2. mʊdʌki managed to translate this atmosphere to the live setting using a strictly hardware setup.
• V prvním díle Future Forms si poslechneme záznam skvělého koncertu hudebnice mʊdʌki, která tvoří obrovskou škálu hrozně zajímavé hudby od industriálního techna přes všechny formy bass music až po sound art a elektroakustickou hudbu s použitím cimbálu. Taky se angažuje v ústeckém kolektivu phonon, který se zaměřuje na pořádání kvadrofonních experimentálních hudebních akcí, ale i ravů v Ústí nad Labem, Praze, ale i jinde po Evropě. Koncert se odehrál v květnu v dejvické kavárně Potrvá k příležitosti křestu dokonce dvou nových alb mʊdʌki – studiovky The Labyrinth a herního soundtracku Speculare. Obě vyšly na labelu Stoned to Death a můžete si je poslechnout na jejich Bandcampu. Desky vycházejí z až oldschoolové hardwarové elektroniky, která ale maximálně využívá zvukových možností toho hardwaru a tvoří s ním temné hypnotické krajiny nasáklé industriálem, rozbíjené polyrytmickými explozemi a v něčem hodně připomínající Aphex Twin a jeho Selected Ambient Works vol. 2. Do živého provedení tuhle atmosféru mʊdʌki přenesla skrz právě čistě hardwarový setup.
